Blue cities are the way they are because of the residents. Most importantly, the rich white liberals that, for the most part, are relatively safe from all the violence and mayhem.
But, at some point, the violence and mayhem creeps on their front door.
What do those that are the root cause of all the problems do? They leave. They take the job that they’ve been doing remotely and leave. Most of the time to the suburbs or those small, semi-rural towns. When they get to those places, normally with heavy Republican leanings, they set about destroying them as well.
So, at the end of the day, Blue cities don’t die. They metastasize and ruin other places as well.
This is exactly what has happened to my city, and to my beloved State.
They are like locust. They devour their surroundings, realize there is nothing left and move on to the next fertile area and repeat the process. At some point though there is no where else to go and devour, then the real Road Warrior fun begins.
