Former President Trump attacked Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for his abortion stance on Monday, suggesting in an interview that Florida's six-week ban was "too harsh."
Trump made the statement in a wide-ranging interview with The Messenger published on Monday. Trump refused to elaborate on his own stance regarding abortion, however, instead claiming to have heard that pro-life voters opposed DeSantis' bill.
"He has to do what he has to do," Trump said when asked about Florida's six-week ban. "If you look at what DeSantis did, a lot of people don't even know if he knew what he was doing. But he signed six weeks, and many people within the pro-life movement feel that that was too harsh."

Trump has entered the desperate phase where ANYTHING DeSantis does is bad and should be attacked. It’s a short-term strategy that will be a disaster in the long-term.
So are bumpstocks and in person voting.

And as a side note, this is yet another unforced error on Trump’s part. He might win over a few pro-abortion voters with these comments. But he’ll certainly push more pro-life folks away.

Any day now, Trump is gonna announce a party switch, claim that he did not leave the GOP; the GOP left him, that up until recently, the GOP was the pro-abortion party.
The sooner Trumps finishes destroying himself the better off we will be.
On the surface, this looks like another fact twisting by Fox.
It is imperative that abortion be a major issue in the 2024 GOP Primaries and vital that Right to Life be a major issue for the Republicans in the 2024 Election.
That’s why they are doing it. They think it’ll weaken Trump with the base. His answer on CNN was great! Even here, the headline is meant to hurt Trump but he didn’t say what it says.

He didn’t say it was too harsh. He said many people think it is and would would help the Democrats. Remember when Graham wanted to run on a 15 week ban and every told him to shut the hell up????? Same difference.
Unless there is something I missed, Trump didn't say anything about what he personally thinks or believes.
This puts me on Team Somebody Else for 2024.
