"...still in the midst of developing their identity." When did "developing an identity" become of paramount importance for children? I've always known I am a medium height female, above average IQ, which meant I'd do well in college, while educating myself to become my work identify. Actually, I never called it my "work identify." It was my job.

If an adult can convince a young child that they should have their genitals mutilated, they can also probably talk them into consenting to sex. Properly groomed, kids can be talked into anything.
