No this was a sarcastic reference related to the end of WW2 and specifically the movie Downfall where Hitler in his bunker was anticipating a counterattack by Felix Steiner during the Battle of Berlin that never actually happened because the panzer division literally existed only on paper.
After months of attrition, with bakmuht serving as echo of verdun, uke’s want to replay the ardennes campaign. the battle of the bulge shortened the war. germany stripped it’s last reserves, wonder-weapons and supplies to throw at the allies. If the germans had just dug in deeper and forced us to advance it would have been more costly for us. When they sent their men and supplies into the open for attack it allowed us and our airpower to devastate them.
