Ted Cruz, Backed by Rail Industry, Vows to Oppose Bipartisan ‘Railway Safety Act’ in Wake of East Palestine Disaster
Breitbart ^ | 05/10/2023 | JACOB BLISS and JOHN BINDER

Posted on 05/10/2023 1:56:03 PM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), a ranking member of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, will not support Sen. J.D. Vance’s (R-OH) bipartisan railway safety bill in the wake of a disastrous train derailment that has rocked the small community of East Palestine, Ohio.

Last month, a Norfolk Southern train derailed in East Palestine, with a population of less than 5,000, leaving chemicals spewing into the community’s environment.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources estimates that more than 43,000 fish and other aquatic animals were killed as a result of the toxic chemical spill, while residents have reported feeling sick, getting rashes, and developing “chemical bronchitis.”

There are already laws on the books. The cause of the derailment was a failure to maintain hot box detectors. All the laws in the world won't help if someone neglects their job. The guy in charge of hot boxes detectors was probably an "affirmative action" hire.

Isn’t it possible that the two men have an honest difference of opinion for altruistic reasons?

And the Donald supports Disney’s grooming efforts and Budweiser’s transgender agenda. Note that he allowed cross-dressers to participate in Ms. Universe pageants, and said cross-dressers should use whatever restrooms they want, putting pressure on North Carolina’s GOP governor, Pat McCrory, to reverse its law restricting the use of ladies’ rooms to women.

Trump is a New York liberal. I’ll vote for him if he gets the nomination. But I never thought he was anything but a libertine Democrat who switched parties because his lifelong exploits as a lothario were toxic in a Democrat primary. In philosophy, he’s basically Joe Manchin’s twin - talks right, votes left.

[Transgender people should be able to use whatever bathroom they want, Donald Trump said Thursday.

“Oh, I had a feeling that question was going to come up, I will tell you. North Carolina did something that was very strong. And they’re paying a big price. There’s a lot of problems,” the Republican presidential candidate said during a town hall event on NBC’s “Today.”

Referring to comments from an unnamed commentator who on Wednesday said North Carolina should “leave it the way it is right now,” Trump said he agreed.

“Leave it the way it is. North Carolina, what they’re going through with all the business that’s leaving, all of the strife — and this is on both sides. Leave it the way it is,” he said, referring to companies that have canceled plans to move or expand businesses in the state as a result of the law, which bans transgender individuals from using a bathroom that does not match their gender at birth.

“There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go. They use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate,” Trump said. “There has been so little trouble. And the problem with what happened in North Carolina is the strife and the economic — I mean, the economic punishment that they’re taking.”]

The cause of the derailment was a failure to maintain hot box detectors.

I thought the hot boxes were being detected and that railway management told them to press on to the next stop when personnel on the train called it in.

“I thought the hot boxes were being detected and that railway management told them to press on to the next stop when personnel on the train called it in.”

The system is automatic. The first two boxes detected the hot bearing but it wasn’t hot enough to surpass the preset threshold for the boxes to send the alert. The 3rd box also detected the hot bearing and that time the threshold was surprised and the warning was sent. The crew immediately began to stop the train but it was already too late and the catastrophic failure occured

The bill is likely a union device to force railroads to hire unneeded employees — by restricting train length under the guise of safety regulation. A larger number of shorter trains is not safer than a smaller number of longer trains.

When Democrats stop supporting union efforts to create no show jobs, it will have become an entirely different political party.

Our politicians take money from special interests including the railroads.

In the late 1800’s the railroads and the politicians were in lockstep with each other in the days when railroads were king.

Bathrooms are different than shower rooms.

Male (feminized) might use private stall in female bathroom.

Female (masculinized) might use private stall (or urinal) in male bathroom.

Now Bruce Jenner on hormones in the gals’ shower room is a different matter.

Who has been arrested for that failure? If there are laws on the matter someone should have been.

The biggest special interests of them all are the unions with a stranglehold over monopolies or near-monopolies like railroads. They’re basically a huge legal extortion racket that shakes the American population down with their outsized demands. They’re a natural fit for the Democrat party.

I noticed you did not address Lying Ted’s Close relations with Railways.
Your defense of Lying Ted’s Close Relations with Railways is to attack Trump?
The article was about Lying Ted’s Railway Campaign Donors.
Not Trump’s support of Tranny’s Bathroom Preference.
