Founding Fathers: Gentlemen, I suggest we word this 2nd amendment more carefully. Someday in the wilderness frontier beyond us there may be morons born who try to restrict gun rights of citizens by misinterpreting it.
I believe this goes back to the 1960s when zinc framed “Saturday Night Special” handguns were blamed for all crime in the country.
So various cities or states banned zinc framed firearms.

The constution has been watered down consistently since this country started. There are plenty of laws in place that are clearly unconstitutional. Conversely, there are plenty of laws that were or are forbidden that are constitutional like outlawing abortion for example.
Before the ink was even dry on the document, evil people got to work subverting it and that subversion continues today at all levels of government.
