Last January, when Consumer Product Safety Commission member Richard Trumka Jr. suggested that the entire U.S. could follow the lead of Berkeley, Calif., and ban the use of gas stoves, conservatives lit into the CPSC and Trumka for even suggesting such a thing.
New York Senator Chuck Schumer called suggestions that the government wanted to end the use of gas stoves in residences a “MAGA conspiracy theory.” “Nobody is taking away your gas stove,” he said.
That may be true. But if you like cooking with gas or heating your house with gas, don’t try to relocate. The chances are good that if you want to move to a blue state in the next couple of years, you’re going to be forced to cook with electricity. That’s because it will soon be all the rage in blue states to ban the installation of gas stoves in all new construction.
The movement to rid the planet of gas stoves got a big boost on Wednesday when the New York legislature passed a bill that would ban gas stoves in new residences starting in 2026.
Why? Gas stoves are powered by natural gas — a fossil fuel. There have also been a couple of studies showing that cooking with gas can give your child asthma. Or something.
Steve Everley, writing in National Review in January, covered several flaws in the most recent studies finding serious health impacts from gas stoves. Experimental studies that found links between gas stoves and child asthma used airtight rooms without ventilation. The author of another much-touted meta-analysis finding a link between gas stoves and child asthma said their study “does not assume or estimate a causal relationship.”

My gas stove migrated from Mexico and claims asylum in the United States, so any administration who tries to remove it……is a bigot!!!!
And still no solutions on how they are going to generate the electricity to replace gas.

Right and that means a $2000 dollar gas heating bill has just become a $6000 dollar electric heating bill. $3000 has become $9000.
Where are the lawsuits for such nonsense that science and reality does not back up. That actual science in no way shows that this is better for the environment. And the Grid is not even designed to support it overall.
I’m going to write my congressmen and tell them to make Texas a gas stove santuary.
All of these new apartments advertise as “all electric” so in addition to high rents they will have outrageous monthly electric bills. I guess they are for immigrants and paid for by taxpayers.
But even if that's true (I assume not), it doesn't matter. Electric stoves are available to purchase if your situation calls for it, and if you live in a place where the appliances were selected by someone else, you're gonna get electric anyway cause the initial purchase is so much cheaper. Once again, more goobermint isn't the answer; shocking.
Hacked me off, in fact, when we were living in an apartment for 4 months waiting on our house to be done, that the appliances they bought but you paid to run were electric while the ones they bought AND paid to operate were gas. Jerks.

In some places, I suppose. Here electricity is generally a bit cheaper.
Gas Stoves at Home Depot have increased by $300 - $500 depending on the model since February.
We bought a new gas stove for our daughter right before the price increase and got the last one in stock

There is no evidence of global warming due to CO2 buildup. As a matter of fact if the CO2 level which is now about 400 ppm is reduced below 170 ppm, all plant life and therefore all human life ceases.
