Over the last twenty years Iâve seen the islands down there change shape, even year to year, by the storms and waves that blow thru there. loggerhead key has changed its shape mostly due to the park service cutting down the trees they didnât like because âthey werenât native to the areaâ. Itâs just nature.
Ocean Sand bars change, not climate change, just natural wind, tide, erosion and currents.
All of that part of the Keys is built on marl - a kind of white coral

During the outbreak of Yellow Fever at Fort Jefferson, when the prison doctor died of the disease, Dr. Samuel Mudd, who had been convicted for his alleged role in the assassination of President Lincoln, took over that position, and helped stem the disease. He was eventually pardoned in 1869 by President Johnson, for his work at the Fort. Michael O’Laughlen, who had also been convicted for being involved in the assassination conspiracy, died of Yellow Fever while imprisoned at Fort Jefferson.
These people are fools, and purposefully fooling people. Little islands around the ocean come and go all the time, due to storms primarily. SMH.
