Ignorance and intolerance take many forms, and these character flaws are exacerbated by pursuing a liberal arts college degree, particularly if it aawared through one of the many “grievance studies” departments that have infected these schools.
We’re they afraid they would slip into a coma and never awaken?
What kind of sissy says they were “scared for their safety” because someone with an opos8ng viewpoint speaks?
I suspect we are dealing with the same mindset as was seen at the Salem Witch trials.
Young teenage/early 20s adults indoctrinated and building up wave after wave of excitement and bouncing it off each other. The end result is totally irrational behavior like at Salem where the teen girls seemed to actually believe they were possessed.

Interesting! We now know all about the protestors, but nothing about those who did attend and how the speech was received by them and the University as a whole. Were the protestors representative of the overall student body or just a fringe. Tell us the whole story, please!!!

LOL! Well, I’ll see what I can find, but given what we know about the media, I suspect those details will be hard to uncover. Narrative is more important than facts!
I actually found a pretty evenly presented article on his visit.
I wasn’t referring to your post but the story published. It seems they have a hankering for finding a fringe group to write about in such a way as to paint the overall with the same brush. It may or not be true but you never know the whole truth from their article. I have some younger kin-folk at UNC as students. They are from conservative families and are not involved in campus politics, strictly sports, fraternity/sorority and studies. Probably in that order.

Political propaganda or a sign of how crazy things have gotten how wounded people are.
I link my political militancy passion fears and angers to wrongs done to me as a child real or imagined including the sexual ones.
Applying “do unto others” the wrong way is having an impact there are not enough “moral” backstops to help the wounded children find maturity and stability.
Parents have moral bankruptcy issues.
The schools filled with defective personnel sometimes hurting them in all ways including sexually.
Political militancy is being bred and spread among the younger population and yes there is leftist political propaganda in the educational institutions as noted by Elon Musk in his interview with Bill Maher this weekend.

Oh, I realize that. Freepers post their comments to the original article poster. It would be foolish to take the comments personally since the comments are actually directed at the subject matter of the posted article. But, you did cause me to look for another article on the incident which is often a good thing to do.
What they should be afraid of is the lefties coming in with a violent protest. They need to shelter from that. What a bunch of fools.
