Jeb Bush (who by the way is backing Desantis)....

I love this game of "guilt by association" you cultists play.

Jeb has not endorsed DeSantis as far as I know. Yes, as past governor of Florida, Jeb was at DeSantis' inauguration.

But if you want to play that game, then why has Trump hired former Jeb campaign team members for his Florida campaign?

Isn't that indicative of being backed by RINOs?

Or how about Trump backing McCarthy, McDaniel and Dr Oz....none of which are conservatives, but full-blooded RINOs.

How about Trump siding with McCarthy, McDaniel, Rubio, Crist, Graham and Haley over Disney?

I can give you plenty of examples of Trump's poor associations. But like liberals, you cultists doe not care about reality or facts, just your narrative.

“Why do you Trump cultists think you can lie and get away with it?”

They are emulating the democrats and the mainstream media (but I repeat myself), creating a narrative and repeating it as often as possible.

Stay vigilant!

Trump has made it clear he doesn’t need deep state money

Look folks, another cultist who believe Trump does not take big donor money or money from the deep state!!!!

This moron above doesn't accept that Trump took tens of millions from Disney in 2020 and now has sided with the RINO wing of the GOP to call on DeSantis to end his feud with Disney over grooming.

I wonder why Trump and his RINO friends do not want to fight with Disney? Could it be future campaign donations?

Don't forget, Trump also took money from Anheuser-Busch and sent his son out to call for an end to the boycott.

But I know conservatism and the culture war does not matter to you cultists. All you care about is revenge for 2020 and "getting even" for Trump's loss.....yes, Trump LOST in 2020. He is not POTUS and he failed to make his case.

Trump is a 6-time loser as leader of the GOP.

Actually I think the fundraising numbers are more accurate because they show an absolute number where polls can be screwed around with by anybody. And since when do we trust polls here?

I swear the convenience of cherry picking data is becoming endemic in all areas of life.

I know you hate facts, but did you go to all the threads about DeSantis losing donors and call the posters "obsessed"?

Where were you when Trump used Joy Reid's words about Florida to denigrate conservative policies and conservatism as an ideology?

You were nowhere to be found because you have no principles and you do not support conservatism.

DeSantis ran the cleaners and tidiest election in 2022 of any state. It also lead to one or two of the trifecta counties in Miami going red. You don’t have correct info on florida election security.

Polls are untrustworthy. Fundraising is not very trustworthy, especially at this early stage of the primary.

I posted this to demonstrate that Trump is a liar and his cultists, who posted multiple stories about DeSantis losing donors, ignores the FACT that DeSantis has more on hand right now than Trump.

That is something that can change as the campaigns go forward, but let's stick to FACTS here and not let any politician (that includes Trump) get away with lies.

It appears you have awoken the circular firing squad of the republican version of PUMAs for 2024. Gonna be a long election cycle if people don’t come to grips with reality — your posts are excellent and on point.

At least you are also calling out the obvious RFK Jr traitors on this forum. It is clear from some of the slobbering love OPs for RFK Jr that are increasing in number that the 40 or so fringe posters around here who love the antivaxx narrative will be bolting to vote D

It’s a nasty game.

Big donors make big investments.

Big investments require big returns, thusly, a skewing of representations comes into play typically against we the people.

“DeSantis has done nothing substantive to secure Florida’s elections.”

Really, you are going to just flat out lie? Or are you ignorant? Let’s look at just ONE of the election laws passed by Florida under Desantis in 2021, Florida SB90:

General provisions of the act include:

Regulating behaviour of state officials in civil actions which effect Florida’s election law:

Making it so that in any litigation challenging the validity of a provision of the Florida Electoral Code in which a Florida government official is a party, the official (or anyone working on their behalf) must communicate in writing details of any proposed settlement to the President of the Florida Senate, Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Attorney General throughout the process. (Prevent leftist election officials from sneaking in consent decrees to undermine the law at the last second).

Compelling state officials or their representatives to ‘promptly’ move to dismiss cases once the Florida Legislature has amended the law to remove provisions which are rendered invalid or unenforceable by a court ruling.

Prohibiting state agencies from using any donations or personal services for the purpose of funding election-related expenses, voter education, voter outreach or registration programs. (Preventing the use of “Zuck bucks”.)

Restoring the former felon declaration of voting eligibility after changes made following Florida Amendment 4’s passing in 2018 were overturned by Judge Robert Hinkle.

Adding extra risk assessment requirements for online voter registration systems.

Requiring the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to assist the Department of State in identifying voters who have changed their address.

Voter registration
Provisions include:

Amending the regulations governing organizations and their volunteers who promote voter registration:
Clarifying that only volunteers who collect and handle registration applications need to be registered with the voting division, not volunteers who only solicit applications.
Repealing the requirement for volunteers to undertake a sworn statement saying they will obey all state laws regarding voter registration.

Amending requirements for voter registration organizations delivering of applications:

Requiring applications to be submitted to the county in which the applicant lives.

Extending the delivery time requirement from 48 hours after the application was completed by the applicant to 14 days after. Provides fines for failing to submit applications within the time frame.

Laying out information that organizations must provide to applicants using their services.

Voting by mail
Provisions included:

Making it a first degree misdemeanor to possess more than two vote-by-mail ballots, not including one’s own and those of an immediate family member. (Prohibits ballot harvesting.)

Expanding the definition of “immediate family member” to include grandchildren.

Expanding rules on making duplicates of damaged mail-in ballots during counting:

Requiring duplicates to be made in “an open and accessible room”.

Allowing duplicates of over or undervoted mail-in ballots only if there is a clear indication that the voter made a definite choice in that election or ballot measure. (No more “dimpled chads”).

Allowing candidates, party officials or political committee officials to observe the duplication taking place, including the markings made on each ballot.

Requiring duplication to happen in the presence of at least one canvassing board member.

Allowing observers present to make objections to a duplication which, if reasonable, must be presented to the canvassing board which notes the serial number in its minutes and decides on its validity. If valid, it must be counted and if invalid, it must be replaced with another duplication.

Allowing a single request to vote by mail to be sufficient to receive mail-in ballots for all elections until the end of the calendar year of the next regularly scheduled general election. (You must request vote by mail each general election cycle.)

Allowing requests for mail-in ballots submitted before the act comes into force to stand until the end of 2022.

Reforming methods of requesting a mail-in ballot:
Allowing voters to request to vote by mail in person.

Requiring requests made in person or by telephone to provide a Florida driver’s license number, a Florida ID card number or the last four digits of their social security number.

Requiring requests in writing to, in addition to the provision of a form of identification, be signed by the elector.

No-solicitation zones
No-solicitation zones are areas around polling stations where campaigning and political activities are restricted for the duration of an election. Under Florida law, anywhere within 150 feet (46 m) of a polling place, early voting site or election supervisor office is a no-solicitation zone.

SB 90 made provision for:

Drop box sites to be added to sites protected by no-solicitation zones

Expands the definition of solicitation to include any activity with the intent to or effect of influencing voters.

Drop boxes may only be at the Supervisor of Elections office and at early voting locations, but only during voting hours. Drop boxes must be continuously monitored.

So no, obviously NOTHING has been done to secure the elctions in Florida...

You do realize that last election cycle Trump got lots of his money from big donors as well, right? The idea that Trump was funded just by small money donors or self-funded is a myth.

I have a straight forward honest question for you. Relative to Trump and the republican primary I am open to voting for trump. I voted for him in the general but not the primary in 2020. I enthusiastically supported him in the general and volunteered for him as well

I thought he was an excellent president and as you know I admire and support OWS. I think the business of America is business and honestly it is clear that having a businessman as the president of much better than a politician.

Here are my questions. I am asking with no agenda or prejudice. But I am asking honestly

1. It is said one should nominate the most electable conservative possible. Is Trump electable without softening his communications albeit not his message? Trump is the poster child of losing his message in his delivery and for a solid chunk of voters this is a deal breaker. Can he overcome this?

2. Should we have a robust primary on our side? Or does it appear that Trump is the obvious one to be crowned kind of like we said about Clinton in 2016. Should there be a robust primary? Should Trump participate?

3. Reagan’s 11th commandment is never speak ill of a fellow republican. Do you think the primary attacks on Desantis by Trump are scorched earth vs actual policy issues that should be vetted?

I think Trumps greatest strength is he can be presidential and read the room but sometimes he can’t get out of his own way. Should he not be a viable competitor for whatever reason, isn’t it harmful for him to make others not viable through petty issues not political ones?

I have mixed emotions. I am currently leaning toward a Trump vote in the primary simply as a result that no current declared candidate gets my juices running politically. But I am open to changing by current front runner. Should Trump have to earn my vote or should he merely expect it?

Thanks in advance for your or anyone’s responses.

Trump lies all the time, that is one of his defining characteristics. Trump also is fine taking “deep state” money. You think he won’t accept funding from the RNC if he is the nominee?

I am very concerned that Trump is so desperate that he now will
Orchestrate with Maggie Haberman of the NY Slimes to destroy Desantis .
Maggie is a evil awful Hard Core Leftist who tried to destroy that poor Covington boy and got sued over it .
We will lose the House and more Senate seats in 2024 if these Scorched Earth
Tactics by Trump are not stopped . They are dividing the Gop party and destroying our public image .
Biden has no debates in 24 .
We are screwed .
