I believe Russia and China have reversed the original 1948 George Kennan policy of "containment."
They are building a security and economic wall around their interests, and are simply waiting for the ideologues in the USA to destroy this country with contradictory, harmful and stupid (neo) Marxist policies.
Putin and Xi don’t need to fire a shot against the United States and the Western democracies. Whether by design or by a combination of stupidity and hubris, the leadership class is consumed with destructive policies militarily, economically, and socially. Unless the Chinese-Russian-Iranian alliance stumbles, which Russia appears to be doing in Ukraine, the Western nations will lose their dominant position in the world.
