President Donald Trump reminded supporters on Friday evening at the Lee County GOP Dinner in Florida that he had netted more votes in the Sunshine State in 2020 than Governor Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., accrued in his landslide reelection in 2022.
“In Florida I got 1.2 million more votes than your successful governor’s campaign, you know that,” he said.
He continued, pointing out that after he endorsed DeSantis in his initial run for governor, “it was like a rocket ship,” sending the Florida leader to victory.
In Florida, Trump has garnered 12 of the 20 Florida Republican Delegates, surprising many people who may have believed that the Sunshine State’s lawmakers would break for DeSantis. However, Gov. DeSantis has not yet officially announced a bid for the presidency in 2024.
Since November, Trump’s campaign has gained unstoppable momentum. A recent 2024 Republican Primary poll from Clarity Campaign illustrated the president’s biggest lead yet, with 65 percent of the GOP vote against DeSantis’s 20 percent.
President Trump told attenders of the Lee County dinner that the Democrats in power “are crooked and they are dangerous and they’re so bad for our country.” He added that when it came to RINOs, “We’ve got to get them the hell OUT.”

Trump got more apples compared to the number of oranges DeSantis got.

If DeSantis decides to run, give it a week or two and check the numbers.

Which one has a better shot of combatting and winning in spite of Democrat ballot harvesting in 2024? Trump certainly has the money to implement his own ballot harvesting plans - waiting to see if he does it.

Apples vs oranges - voting in different elections for different offices is no different than different voters, just as primary elections are not general elections, though each is an election.

So sick of this fabricated political b/s war between Trump and Desantis. Sick of Trump dumping fuel on the fire (that he started) when Desantis has not even formally announced. There are enemies, true enemies of America, out there; Desantis is not one.

It’s also bogus to make a serious comparison to vote counts between presidential and midterm elections. More people turn out for the former than for the latter.

Well, the problem is easily solved where DeSantis is concerned.
Instead of being a disloyal backstabber to President Trump to whom he owes his very existence as Governor, he could simply wait until 2028, declare clearly that he is not running in 2024 and endorse President Trump.
Problem solved!
DeSantis' problem is he got into bed with the Globalists and GOP-E who are funding him.
The enemies of everyone who declares themselves conservatives, whether moral or fiscal or both in nature.

Trump would do so well to quit making such a ridiculous fool of himself. Doesn’t he understand this undermines his assertions that he won in 2020?
DeSantis won by 20 points, Trump won by 3.

Oh, and one more thing LibertyWoman, anyone with a brain watching DeSantis's actions knows he running. Quit with the charade.

I feel the same way. Then I remind myself - not to worry, it's already over! President Trump has half of FL's delegation committed publicly, probably another quarter behind the scenes.
At this point, it's unlikely DeSantis even throws his hat in the ring.

Does he have more votes in PA, WI, MI and AZ?

“Apples vs oranges - voting in different elections for different offices is no different than different voters, just as primary elections are not general elections, though each is an election.”
Of course you are correct, and the comparison is totally meaningless.
Another way of looking at it is:
DeSantis got 59% of the vote in Florida — against a candidate who actually ran a campaign; Trump got 51% of the vote in Florida — against a guy who hid in his basement and napped.
Oh wait, the “Deep State” engineered DeSantis’ victory in 2022 and that’s why he won by so much. I momentarily forgot about that “fact”, LOL.

charade? You see, this is the problem: people running around calling themselves conservative are anything but. You attack other conservatives for daring to stray from
your POV. Now that's what I call a charade.
So what, Desantis is looking into running. Trump started attacking him months ago before Desantis even made any moves/exploration.
I agree with Desantis on one thing: attack the true enemies of America; not other conservatives.

If Trump can’t get off his “it’s all about me” theme and agenda, I could vote for someone else in the primary, if just to send a message as to what I think will (the issues) and will not (”I’m better than he is, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah”) win the 2024 general election.
