The U.S. military has successfully completed the evacuation of the American embassy in war-torn Sudan, President Joe Biden said late Saturday evening.

Biden confirmed the evacuation of U.S. government personnel from Khartoum and that the administration would continue to assist Americans in Sudan.

"I am proud of the extraordinary commitment of our Embassy staff, who performed their duties with courage and professionalism and embodied America's friendship and connection with the people of Sudan. I am grateful for the unmatched skill of our service members who successfully brought them to safety. And I thank Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Saudi Arabia, which were critical to the success of our operation," he said in a statement."

We needed Biden, a strong hero with consummate leadership skills at the helm in this crisis. πŸ™ˆ
The aides can put together some retrospective plans purporting to detail how he was behind the evacuation mission all the way and informed of every step.πŸ—’οΈπŸ—“οΈπŸ“πŸ’ΌπŸ“πŸ“‚
Actually he was taking extra naps.πŸ›ŒπŸ’€

"And I thank Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Saudi Arabia, which were critical to the success of our operation,.."

Gee, I wonder how much that cost US taxpayers.....
And did Joe get his customary 10% back?

“US embassy staff in Sudan successfully evacuated”

Best thing that ever happened to that country. Now maybe they can settle their differences.

Yahoo update:
The U.S. said it had no current plans for a government-coordinated evacuation of an estimated 16,000 other Americans remaining in Sudan, calling the situation too dangerous.

“Biden confirmed the evacuation of U.S. government personnel from Khartoum and that the administration would continue to assist Americans in Sudan.”

And just how is Biden going to assist Americans in Sudan, by Zoom?

Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the head of Sudan’s ruling council who commands the army, against the irregular RSF forces led by the wealthy, one-time militia leader General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo...

Egypt’s al-Sisi prefers al-Burhan and he opposes the RSF, which is the Islamist terrorist/militia/raider groups formerly called the Janjaweed?

The thousands of Americans left in Sudan could not be reached for comment.
That's assuming the news has tried to reach any of them, which is a big if.

Seems like every time a U.S. Embassy is in trouble, there’s a Democrat in the White House.

Exactly. Why the actual F would we need “diplomats” in Sudan?

It isn’t even a real country.

The present civil war involves military leaders, basically Arab Zaghawa cattle and camel tribals of western Sudan who made their bones in Darfur, against the riverine Nile Arabs who with Egyptian blessing, and with the exception of the Mahdi interregnum, have ruled the Sudan for centuries and impoverished the nation. It is to be greatly hoped that they will destroy each other.
