Biden admin preparing major crackdown on power plants that fuel nation's grid

The Biden administration is reportedly finalizing a proposal that would force fossil fuel-fired power plants to substantially curb emissions or utilize costly carbon capture technology.

The proposal — which will soon be released by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) — is expected to require coal- and natural gas-fired power plants to cut or capture the vast majority of their carbon dioxide emissions by 2040, The New York Times reported on Saturday, citing officials briefed on a draft of the plan. The regulation, if finalized, would represent the first-ever federal action curbing power plant emissions.

"EPA cannot comment because the proposals are currently under interagency review," EPA spokesperson Maria Michalos told Fox News Digital in a statement.

"But we have been clear from the start that we will use all of our legally-upheld tools, grounded in decades-old bipartisan laws, to address dangerous air pollution and protect the air our children breathe today and for generations to come," Michalos said.

The occupier of the WH going after the nation’s power plants to force them to curb carbon emission fuels by 2040. Affects those plants that use fossil fuels.

Another attack in support of the fake climate change agenda. There false climate change god needs more sacrifices.

Good! I hope they do. Biden and his supporters are bound and determined to put the united States of America back to the Dark Ages. Or bust the gates of Hell trying. But I voted for President Trump.

They want to ban air conditioners, natural gas heaters, cars, and now they’re going after the power plants...

Everything is negative with the left. Ban it all, make your life as uncomfortable and as expensive as possible.

Doom, gloom, threats, bans 24/7...

They are running out of targets. I live on the Ohio River. When Obama took office there were six coal fired plants within 50 miles of me. Today they’re two. The other four were closed due EPA regulation.

Create problems or fake them. “Solve” them by f@#$ing everything up forever and a day. Then, years later, say that that “solution” is a problem that must be “solved”.

dangerous air pollution

They mean CO2. They won't stop pushing tyranny until all CO2 is eliminated from the atmosphere.

Am I wrong in thinking that states that are power importers and also deregulated are the ones that will be first to be hit hard?

Other than to destroy our country and western civilization, why would they do this? There is no proof that emissions cause the earths atmosphere to warm. It is a theory only. I believe it to be a myth.

But, but, but CO2 is the gas of life! Which means we can’t live without it.

“capture CO2 emissions”

We must also be concerned about emissions from Male humans. Also their methane emmissions. Methane is worse than CO2.

And we must be concerned about emissions from livestock. We must move to a vegan society and not farm emissions from our food stock.

Deregulated plants are under EPA jurisdiction too, so they will be hit just as hard (or harder). States that rely on generally imported generation will probably be hit harder because states that generally export will have to shut down fossil fuel plants that were probably providing the energy for other states.

Thanks, Nixon, for the EPA. No one in power ever seems to understand the basic premise of giving the government more power…. They will eventually abuse it, and it will be a stick to hit people with in ways never intended or thought of when the power was granted. RICO is another example… used to prosecute anti abortion protesters. No one who voted for RICO had an inkling it would be used in that manner.
