I suppose nowhere does it say that mentally ill autogynephiliacs have to be logically or ideologically consistent. He's still carrying some of his conservative/small government thought habits with him.

Perhaps also its part of the narcissism of the whole endeavor - he still wants publicity. And he wants to be the "one of the few, the proud" libertarian trannies
