Frozen pipes and dead chickens....................
Try an LED in a garage door opener. It’ll never shut off
unless unplugged. When plugged back in it’ll come on again.
Repeat ...
I’ve still got quite a stash of 100 watt bulbs I bough years ago. Slowly running out as I use them mostly for keeping the well house from freezing.
For my dog house I use a 40 watt refrigerator bulb.
They were ‘banned’ then they were ‘un-banned’, now they are banned again..................

We were supposed to be under a permanent deep layer of ice right now if the prophecies of the 1970s came true.

There is a link between LED’s and eye disease (WebMD)
The sad thing is that I won’t be able to use my Easy-Bake Oven anymore.
Never heard of a farrier called a horseshoer!
I went from incandescents to CFLs (very briefly) to ALL LEDs in my home and it was a choice by me, not government.
When the ban scare on incandescents first came out I stocked up aplenty. They’ve sat untouched for over a decade and I just have them there as some kind of backup.
I DO know LEDs function like solid state diodes that can be susceptible to hugh EM fields and be destroyed. So then, my only thought would be about the actual need for an incandescent could be is if we were subjected to the effects of massive EMP bombs (which would be kinda pointless because they’d not work on a grid taken down, etc.)
Never realized they had been unbanned. I guess because I never shopped for them since I had such a horde.
So it sounds like I need a new horde — and fast…
I have switched our house over the LED’s a few years ago. I consider it to be a choice. It should not be a government mandate.

“LED light bulbs ‘currently cost more than incandescent bulbs and are inferior”
Bad way to start the article. The lifetime cost of a LED bulb is lower than that of an incandescent and they are not inferior in many uses, and furthermore “inferior” is a matter of opinion.
Having said that, we still use 150 watt incandescents in our couch-end lamps and in the above-sink lamps in the bathrooms.
YES!
I went on line to a Texas light bulb company and ordered CASES of incandescent bulbs
= = =
I hope you ordered through a VPN, and paid in secure Crypto.
Else the Feds will be at your door.
just bought 24 60 watt soft white bulbs.
Here is how our energy use was broken down back in 2009:
This is a blow up of light bulb impact on energy use:
If you ask yourself: "Are these people brain-dead?" you are asking the wrong question.
I thought it was the Bee. Guess not. 😒
Good thing I bought many, many boxes of incandescent bulbs when all this BS started years ago. The regs keep retailers from selling them. No wordage on their use.
All my bulbs went missing in the second terrible boating
accident. You’d think I’d learn...
