Jeni's actually has pretty good ice cream. Their parlor is on 14th Street NW near U Street, around the corner from Ben's Chile Bowl and about two miles from the White House. However, when I went there, I didn't see either Nancy Pelosi or Joe Biden.
Jeni’s got her start in Columbus, OH. The first time I encountered her brand was at a booth at the North Market near downtown, where lots of businesses get their start. Then she opened up in the Short North a few years later. She’s been going strong ever since. Yes, she’s got great ice cream, with imaginative flavor combinations. Her Boston Cream Pie ice cream is pretty tasty.
