For years Mrs Submareener was told to cut back on salt because of high blood pressure, and for years she would end up in the hospital with low sodium. The FDA is another infiltrated agency. There was a report just the other day about how bad it was to avoid all salt. And that it is very bad for those with a heart condition to avoid all salt.
I have low blood sodium, a potentially dangerous condition. However, it is easily treated—eat a moderate amount of salt—sodium chloride!
So I put salt on bland foods—other foods already have enough salt.
Demonizing salt can hurt quite a number of people, and doctors may not catch it before it does harm to the patient!

A lot of salt substitutes contain potassium in high amounts, which can be deadly for renal and cardiac patients seeking to decrease salt in their diet. One I used years ago was almost pure potassium.
