Davis was arrested on a public intoxication charge this week.
During the arrest, Davis was heard asking the arresting officer, "are you really doing this?"
The officer responded with, "no sir, you're doing this."
Davis is currently serving in Oklahoma's current legislative session.
The footage shows Davis cooperating with the arresting officers. He made a statement on the House floor the next day.
“I understand that last night has become a story and that many of my colleagues in the House are being asked to comment on or to explain the events of last night. I dispute any wrongdoing. However I do want to take this opportunity to apologize to this body for creating this unnecessary distraction from the important work of the House. Thank you members for allowing me this time. Thank you Mr. Speaker.”

Management of the establishment in my opinion has some culpablity, for letting patrons go the patio after 2:00 AM. There could have been complaints from local residents about this before.
Back in the day where bars had a 2:00 AM closing time last call was at 1:30 AM, and the lights were turned on at 1;45 AM and everybody was shuffled out at 2:00 AM.
Rep. Davis is unlike AOC, he made an apology.
AOC never has to apologize.
I noticed you left the first line of the article out of your excerpt.
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. − Newly released body camera footage shows the moment State Rep. Dean Davis (R - Broken Arrow) was arrested in Oklahoma City.
He was arrested, that was in the headline.
Oklahoma trying to be Florida.
Our bars in Nashville just locked the door.
If your in your in. Stay as long as you like.
One night, a police officer was stalking out a particularly rowdy bar for possible violations of the driving under the influence laws. At closing time, he saw a fellow stumble out of the bar, trip on the curb, and try his keys on five different cars before he found his.
Then, sat in the front seat fumbling around with his keys for several minutes. Everyone left the bar and drove off. Finally, he started his engine and began to pull away.
The police officer was waiting for him. He stopped the driver, read him his rights and administered the Breathalyzer test. The results showed a reading of 0.0. The puzzled officer demanded to know how that could be. The driver replied, “Tonight, I’m the Designated Decoy.”
Designated Decoy.”
😇🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤭
In most states, there is a legislative privilege from arrest when the legislature is in session. The purpose is to prevent the party in power from arresting their opponents to keep them from voting.
My guess is the cop was in the wrong. You can’t arrest a legislator when they are in session.
I was referring to his party affilation.
