They’re all expensive at this time. People with lots of spare money are the buyers.

I’m just a consumer, but I’ve watched so many appliances and various electronics go from introduction to ubiquity. The size and weight decrease and so does the the price.
I once had a hand-production business. Over 35 years I constantly refined the process so that, while the customer was satisfied, my time and costs were kept as low as possible. Once I reached my maximum production capacity, I still tinkered with materials and process.
The production process is key when manufacturing for scale.
Teslas and all hybrids will get better and cheaper. Personally, I still have no desire for an EV.
Tesla could use you for their Tesla-Bot development; unlike other robots they're focusing on human-like hands.
Anyway, I like people like you who produce, unlike the folks who have desk jobs while griping about products. I used to make stuff in shops since I was a teen, before getting into IT engineering. Later on, saw lots of lazy desk people who were inefficient and didn't understand the idea of reducing time and costs in order to bring profit to the firm.
As for owning an EV, I have owned one going on four years. It suited our needs, having a daily driver to use in an urban city setting, and bought it because of rebates that brought the price in line with other offerings. We charge it in the garage every week or two. Only costs so far are bi-annual service costs of $28 to $35, other than annual reg costs. Also own several ICE vehicles, which cost a lot for service, smog checks, and gas. So far, the EV is much cheaper to operate. We've soured on dealerships that try to gouge us on service - another reason we bought the EV. I personally do what I can to maintain the ICE vehicles, having had experience rebuilding my own engines. But I'm old in my seventies and slowing down, no longer like crawling under a car.
Cars are becoming like toasters. Use them until they fall apart, and swap for another. EV's will take a third of the market because of simplicity of operation.
