Battle Lines Drawn: Jim Jordan Makes HUGE Announcement On President Trump as Chip Roy Endorses DeSantis
DC Enquirer ^ | March 16, 2023 | Sterling Mosley

On Thursday, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) officially endorsed 45th President Donald Trump for the 2024 Republican nomination just a day after Jordan’s colleague in the House, Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), endorsed Governor Ron DeSantisfor the nomination.

Jordan has been a long supporter of President Trump, telling Donald Trump Jr. earlier this month that he’s “100 percent” in with the leading Republican candidate, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer.

“Well, two things. The way we ultimately get back, not get back, but the way we ultimately remedy it is to make sure President Trump gets elected president in 2024,” Jordan said at the time, adding, “I’ve been for him since day one.”

“When he announced and before he announced I was encouraging him to announce and run again,” the Ohio Republican stated, concluding, “He’s our guy because he’s proven that he can get things done.”

Jordan’s support of Trump comes after an email was sent by Rep. Roy that endorsed Ron DeSantis for the GOP nomination, being the first notable Republican to do so even before DeSantis announced an official run, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer.

“The next President of the United States must be a vibrant and energetic leader with the faith, vision, and courage to chart a new course,” the congressman began. “America needs a leader who will truly defend her and empower the people against the destructive force of unrestrained government and corporate excess, profligate spending, and woke cultural indoctrination.”

“That leader is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis,” Roy declared.

With two leading House Republicans coming out for two separate candidates, the battle lines for the Republican primary are starting to take shape. The upcoming primaries will be incredibly important, not just for the future of the party but for the future of the country.

Chip Soy has always hated Trump. No surprise here. He worked for a “stop Trump” super pac in 2016 & stood with Liz Cheney after she voted to impeach Trump. https://t.co/bypXqPAldW— Alex Bruesewitz 🇺🇸 (@alexbruesewitz) March 16, 2023

Hey Chips A’Roy you already tried taking down @realDonaldTrump once before.

You really want to go through this again? @chiproytx pic.twitter.com/5pl34Ntbab— Alex Bruesewitz 🇺🇸 (@alexbruesewitz) March 16, 2023

I liked @chiproytx until I found out he:

-defended Liz Cheney after she voted to impeach Trump.

-got teary eyed and thanked Mike Pence for not fighting for election integrity on J6.

& then when I first called him out he had Meghan McCain’s obese husband rush to his defense.— Alex Bruesewitz 🇺🇸 (@alexbruesewitz) March 16, 2023

Remember when this came out? It was in 1981 or 1982.

Only the left want a fight between Trump and DeSantis. They want a split ticket.

Morons that participate in the argument are furthering the left.

So DeSantis is going to be a Biden style basement dweller doing rallies at pick nick grounds and drive-in theaters?

But then, how do you explain so many attacks by Trump on DeSantis? It sounds like Trump wants a fight with DeSantis.

I agree, the left loves this developing battle between Trump and DeSantis. And Trump is making their job that much easier.

If by left, you mean the Bush, McCain, Romney wing of the R party, then yes, they want a fight.

That wing is living its best swamp life since the election steal..
That wing lost in 2016 and won in 2020 with Brandon.

“But then, how do you explain so many attacks by Trump on DeSantis? It sounds like Trump wants a fight with DeSantis.”

A total puzzle, really. It seems like there is a goal not stated. I don’t think it is as simple as saying Trump is doing to DeSantis what he did to Cruz. Cruz picked that fight. DeSantis hasn’t.

The fact still remains that Trump has wide and popular support and should continue to get it, IMHO, but this DeSantis thing is puzzling.

“That wing is living its best swamp life since the election steal..”

Without question. The more drunk on power they have gotten the more that hangover is going to be a bitch.

Re: 8 - Oh, good grief. Talk about wanting being dramatic.

There’s a Republican primary coming up. Everyone who wants to be President has to compete.

Whoever wins has shown they can go the distance in the primary season. Republicans and Conservatives can coalesce around the nominee.

That’s the whole purpose of a primary just so you know. It’s to duke it out and see who is strong enough to run in the general. Otherwise there is no point in having a primary. Because everybody would run.

Endorsing someone who has not declared a run for president says more about the fool who made the endorsement that it does the-not-yet-declared-candidate.

If DeSantis truly supports trumps America first agenda he would support Trump in 2024 and run himself in 2028 to continue the program. There is zero reason for him to oppose Trump unless he wants to stop trump.
