Three little words I never, in my lifetime, thought I would see in a news article:
transgender Lutheran bishop
Back in the early 90’s, when the ELCA was formed, we belonged to an ALC church in Morgan Hill, CA. A family in the church announce that they were leaving the church as the proposed direction of the ELCA was antithetical to the those of the ALC. We thought that they were a little off the rails. It turned out that we were sheep.
In the early 2000s, we belonged to an ELCA church in Leesburg, VA, when a representative to the synod assembly from our church made a report, glowingly praising the pro-homosexual agenda that they had passed. After the service, I took my son’s hand and we got in the car and went looking for the LCMS church supposedly in nearby Ashburn, VA. I had no idea where it was located, but just asked God to take us there. Somehow, I made the turns that seemed right, and there it was, right in front of us! We talked to the pastor, and the rest is history.
