A friend of mine was in medical school and told me about AIDS (not known by that acronym at that time) that had the medical community “scared **itless.” They knew it was spread by the homosexual community at that time.

While scientists believe that the share of LGBT individuals has not actually changed over time, younger people in the U.S. are more likely to be openly gay, lesbian, bisexual or transsexual.

One or two points in the increase may be due to people who previously did not feel comfortable "coming out." However, I suspect that most of the increase is due to younger people who are straight, but now say they identify as LGBT because they've been brainwashed into thinking "it's cool to be this way."
