Trump’s polling strength causes heartburn for Senate GOP
The Hill ^ | Feb 28 2023 | Alexander Bolton

Posted on 02/28/2023 10:31:14 AM PST by Alter Kaker

A Fox News survey showing former President Trump leading Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis by 15 points among Republican presidential primary voters is the latest cause for heartburn among Senate Republicans who don’t think Trump can win a general election match-up against President Biden.

Predictions by key Senate Republicans that Trump would fade as the 2024 election approached are being upended, putting pressure on party leaders in Washington to consider embracing the former president once again.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and other Republicans blamed the “chaos” surrounding Trump for the party’s disappointing performance in the 2022 midterm election. Some thought it would be the final straw to keep Trump off the presidential ticket next year.

They never thought he had a chance at their good ole boy network the first time. He destroyed Biden the second time until they implemented the cheat.

Unless the doofuses running the R party figure out how to counter the dem cheats, NOBODY will ever win again with an R beside their name.

Trump is the one who collected $250M for "election security" in December 2020, then disappeared with the money. Never even paid Rudy, look it up.

When Trump leads all competitors by large margins, even with a few gaffes, it says more of the voters than Trump. They know who they want. And so do I!!- MAGA!!!

No that was Ronna. Trump was involved in litigation and has been fighting for election integrity ever since. If he didn’t pay Rudy, do you think Rudy would still be praising him?

It was Trump that took that election security money, and used it for other purposes. We had those debates right here on FR, and I defended Trump at the time saying he would never do that. But he did.

He did challenge the Election as much as he could, even up to Jan. 6th, and has been talking about election integrity ever since and endorsing people like Matt DePerno and criticizing the GA voting law for not being strong enough.

He took $250 million to fight the steal and never even paid Rudy Giuliani for his work, which was the bulk of his defense. The FEC has no laws about lying to your donors but this is morally criminal.

I just told you that Rudy and the legal team were paid. That was in early 2021. All of them still praise Trump. You attack Trump, but not the GOP over voter fraud.

I expect the very real prospect of world war to loom larger and larger heading into 2024. Foreign policy may become a key issue in the next election and Trump can run on his excellent record as President. That will only work to Trump’s advantage in the primary and general election.

There’s countless articles like this out there. And Giuliani is no longer in contact with Trump, did not come to his campaign announcement, etc.

Trump ‘refusing to pay’ Rudy Giuliani’s legal fees

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/jan/14/trump-refusing-to-pay-rudy-giuliani-legal-fees-after-falling-out

Donald Trump has fallen out with his personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, and is refusing to pay the former New York mayor’s legal bills, it was reported, with the president feeling abandoned and frustrated during his last days in office.

Giuliani played a key role in Trump’s failed attempts to overturn the results of November’s presidential election through the courts. The lawyer mounted numerous spurious legal challenges, travelling to swing states won by Joe Biden, and spread false claims the vote was rigged.

According to the Washington Post, relations between Trump and Giuliani have dramatically cooled. Trump has instructed his aides not to pay Giuliani’s outstanding fees. The president is reportedly offended by Giuliani’s demand for $20,000 a day – a figure the lawyer denies, but which is apparently in writing. White House officials have even been told not to put through any of Giuliani’s calls.

Commenting on the report, Ken Frydman, who worked as Giuliani’s press secretary in the 1990s, said: “Lay down with dogs. Wake up with fleas and without $20,000 a day”.

Those are articles by the liberal media. Rudy was just on stage with Trump. You don’t criticize the Republican Establishment on voter fraud, but you attack Trump.
