I find it interesting that Ukraine/Zelenski is now saying that Crimea will once again become a part of Ukraine. However, the Crimean people voted to be a subject of Russia, overwhelmly. (I know this to be true because Ukraine and the US say the elections were rigged).

Either way this will never happen. Putin will never allow a NATO naval base in the Black Sea. Never.

Similar as to how we will never allow nuke missiles in Cuba. Too close for comfort.

The “election” was held while Crimea was under occupation. The Crimean people, the Tartars, were forcibly removed from Crimea by Stalin while many of the Tartar men were busy fighting the Nazi invasion. The Tartars of Crimea and the Ukrainians together managed to overthrow the Polish imperial tyranny, only to be subjected to Russian tyranny in a switcheroo. Same thing happened after the communist revolution. Ukraine was promised independence by Lenin, who then annexed Ukraine, saying that thereby he was keeping Ukrainians safe from European exploitation.

“Putin will never allow a NATO naval base in the Black Sea. Never.”

Ironic, because he will no longer be President of Russia if he loses control of Crimea.

Furthermore, Ukraine is not a member of NATO, might never become a member of NATO, which is a long and arduous process, and imho it would not be worth it for Ukraine and is not worth it for Lithuania, Poland, or the other former Soviet satellites and Republics that have joined NATO. They ought to go their own way for mutual defense against the Russian bear or the German panther. But that’s really none of my business nor yours.

I am just opposed to Russia invading and occupying Ukraine, Moldavia, Georgia, etc., and dominating the puppet government of Bialarussia. Same as I would be against Britain reasserting its control over its former empire, which would include the United States, South Africa, Israel, India and Canada. Let crumbled empires lie.

“Similar as to how we will never allow nuke missiles in Cuba. Too close for comfort.”

By your logic, the US should have invaded Cuba. They did sponsor a clumsy attempt once upon a time, but just as the Russians for whom you’re shilling will “never” tolerate a NATO base on Crimea, so, too, the presence of a Soviet satellite in Cuba should have been a casus belli for direct conflict with Castro, not just sending over a bunch of yahoos to storm the beaches, and not just a near nuclear war over missiles.

I am on your train, my Father and his Father before him were Russian. Born in this area they call Ukraine now. They were extremely tough and loyal sumbitches. He defended America and proudly did it. His young life was not much different than they tell stories about the negroes of the early to mid 20th century. Good Americans hated Russians and Germans, and would jump them and beat them. He learned to fight back. I imagine Americans, soft little females most of the men are, could not even handle a mans job in Russia. Russians are just different, as I am from my Father. My dad could bend 16 penny nails with his fingers at age 70. They will not quit until they are annihilated.

Anyone watch Siberian Loggers? A show like Ax Men? The Americans from Alaska, Montana loggers all, ran from their job felling trees. It was just too cold, the living conditions were atrocious, the vehicles and equipment wouldn’t run. They went expecting to conquer the logging community, and be the envy of the Russians. At the end, they simply wanted to go home. THAT is what Americans expect Russians to do.

I don’t wish war on anyone, but Heaven help those expecting to destroy them. They WILL use all means available to them to win. Are WE willing to do that?

I can see why your family fled that hell-hole of drunken incompetence and came to live in the country that American men built.

If I had any connection to nato I’d not advertise it. All I’ve ever read about them doing is bombing and waging war against innocents, usually Christians who they seem to hate. In 1999 they bombed a totally innocent Orthodox nation for eighty days and nights including Easter Sunday in order to take a credible rape allegation against William J. SlicKKK KKKlintler off the front pages of magazines and journals.

That is because you are an anti-American who despises our military and resents American veterans, and doesn’t understand what we do and have done and how our military and national defense work.

If you are an American, then you are a part of the NATO alliance by living here, and if you had ever served our nation, then chances are excellent that you have served as a part of the NATO forces.

So are you going to do a fundraiser for the Russian military?
How about canonizing St. Putin?

I'll say it again... The same people who now rule over us by dint of that flagrantly stolen election in 2020 would like to rule the entire world the same way and the only thing now standing between them and that lofty goal is the Russian military. Anybody whgo ISN'T rooting for Russia right now is either an idiot or a demokkkrat.
