All the candidates who are not Lori Lightfoot promise to get tough on crime, by spending more money on cops who can arrest bad guys. None of them have spoken out against the no-cash bail law that was supposed to go into place on 1/1, but has been delayed because of court cases. And none of them have explained how they will prevent the Cook County prosecutor (Kim Fox) from letting bad guys off with little or no prosecution.

So what? Everybody wants to spend more money to get the same results. Lori is coming across as the fiscal conservative.

Paul Valas is most likely going to win on a tough on crime sales pitch then get murdered by the SEIU and Chicago Teachers Union in the operations of the machine.

Chicago politics is a plaything of two non city employee unions that cannot run themselves, everyone else is positioning themselves to get out with ill-gotten gains. In the 2000, the last generation of politician moved out, 2010s were the corporations and rich boys moving out, 2020s will be the north shore widows selling their properties off to absentee owners in foreign lands.
