Right, I ran across the quote, and I did remember things correctly. (yay that!)
You’re right, supposedly this was a movie plot. (The whole bit was a complete hash tbh , very meandering.)
Woody Harrelson says “So the movie goes like this: the biggest drug cartels in the world get together and buy up all the media and all the politicians and force all the people in the world to stay locked in their homes. And people can only come out if they take the cartel’s drugs and keep taking them over and over.”
Harrelson then joked: “I threw the script away. I mean, who was going to believe that crazy idea? Being forced to do drugs? I do that voluntarily all day.”
So, hardee har har and all that. But, really, it was snarky at the most.
I guess I’m just not appreciating how thin and flimsy is the tissue of their lies. I remember when Jon Stewart went on Colbert (wasn’t it?) and said, gee, you know that bio lab is right there, so gee whiz, seems plausible the virus came from there.
And they were just freaking out. But EVERYBODY already KNEW ALL OF THIS. I mean, as Brandon would say, COME ON MAN, there’s not a regular person in this or any other country that isn’t pretty damn sure this thing came from that lab-or-a-tory (best Brit pronunciation).
Even including my essentially brain-dead, now former son-in-law (maybe slightly less brain dead now, but too late), who was led around by the MSM from dawn to dusk. And when Stewart said that and they were all freaking out I asked s-i-l, and he was like, sure of course it probably came from the lab.
But, what can I say? As long as you can still fool yourself, the show is still running, eh?
