I think our NATO troops would disagree with you, and that they are encouraged to see Russia becoming less of a threat as their war machine is being depleted while our GIs get to stay safe and dry while loading the equipment to send to the Ukraine army.

Democracy has its problems, Ivan, but authoritarianism is worse.
Putin cannot possibly allow Ukraine to become as prosperous as Poland has become, nor even Romania. The people of Russia will turn to the west as surely as the people of Moldova and the people of Belarus have turned.
Here the problem with Putin: in the old days, the leaders of the Soviet Union believed in communism. Victory over the west would be won through economic achievement. “We will bury you,” Khrushchev said, meaning with washing machines, decent housing, paid vacations, etc.
We, in the west, similarly believed we had the right idea about economic achievement. So, neither of us wanted to risk a nuclear war because both of us believed we were going to win the economic war. Why risk an inevitable victory in an economic war by getting into a nuclear war!
So, we played the game and we found out democracy, not communism, wins the economic war.

How does one connecty with this project? I'm in Victoria, SE Tx and Michael Cloud appears to be seeing the light on the subject but as you note, other Tx pols seem to see only darkness and need to be primaried into oblivion.
