FILE – New Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant speaks during an inauguration ceremony for city officials Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, in Seattle. One of Sawant’s earliest memories of the caste system was hearing her grandfather – a man she “otherwise loved very much” – utter a slur to summon their lower-caste maid. Now an elected official in a city thousands of miles from India, she has proposed an ordinance to add caste to Seattle’s anti-discrimination laws.

I'm sure caste discrimination is a problem in India. Now that problem has been exported to the U.S., to add to the many problems we already suffer.
This makes perfect sense. The diversity / grievance-mongering political machine needs to keep finding victims to “protect”, even if they don’t really exist in the US.
Like most liberal garbage, it’s about doing something that will make someone feel good. Never mind that it’s pointless and moron. Kinda like Kwanza.

not only retarded— it applies to almost NO one in the area— remember this Ashwanti chick is an Indian Communist. She is again causing needless minutiae instead of doing her freaking job. Glad don’t live there— she is another Indian Communist setting down on the Left coast.. and all the white guilt nobodies over there... follow this needless bullcrap while the city dies, crime and crap in the streets. Something this chickie revels in. Poop play— just like Ghandi and his constant fixation on... enemas! Seriously, dude was whacko about his guts.. fixated and derived pleasure from it... like all anal fixated types.
She is. Where does she think she is? In India? Anyway, she’s out.
We’re all just Dalits to her.
Isn’t it great we let this crap in?
Gotta go to the mil graveyards to tell my ancestors what a wonderful country they got dead for.
Just like everything else liberals do
LOL
Good luck enforcing that. Indians have 75 years experience circumventing their own anti-cast law. And it’s anti-Indian racism to assume that your law will be better than theirs is.
Is Seattle really experiencing an overt Hindu caste problem?
If so, they have admitted by having to pass such a law, a woke liberal town is just a bunch of class-obssessed racists.
Seattle paving the way with laws not really needed in America.
Would be more impressed if they passed this law in Edison or Woodbridge Township in New Jersey but I am not holding my breath and will breathe the curry instead.
We were on an all-day cruise ship tour with about 20 people. An Indian (dot) couple were clearly of near-Brahmin caste. Every time our group gathered to enter or exit a vehicle or building, the Indian couple strode past the rest of us to the front of the line. Privilege has its members.
What I have understood all of tech now has this problem.
You thought Biff hiring a frat brother or two was a problem?
Indians hire only their people and competence is not a factor.
Ah, interesting.
I’ll die for my family and some friends. Not for this government, or the non assimilating hoardes they are bringing in to replace me.
We had a red dot try that at the airport in Kuwait. Three of us who were escaping Iraq for R&R trips back to the States had just checked in to Business Class and checked our luggage. The three of us were the first and only people in the roped-off line for security which was about five minutes from opening and here comes a red dot Indian guy who casually tries to sweep past us to the front of the line.
We weren’t having it. We closed ranks and prevented him from getting past us.
The guy was pissed, but he backed off. And the Kuwaiti couple who got in line behind him smiled at us as if to say, “Well done.”
