US government agents had been tipped off about the cult by a postal driver alarmed by the number of guns he had been delivering to the group's headquarters.
Special agent Davy Aguilera had concluded that the Branch Davidians had been illegally converting AR-15 rifles from semi-automatic to automatic weapons, without applying for the required licences or paying the taxes due.
Spooked by rumours that cult members were planning a mass suicide at Passover, amid reports of child abuse against under-age girls, ATF agents began in July 1992 to lay the groundwork for the biggest operation in the agency's history.
The ATF agents even tipped off TV reporters, leading to near-disaster when a cameraman who asked a Davidian for directions to the compound let slip that he was in town to film an imminent raid on the cult.

The ATF could not bear the notion of the Branch Davidians killing themselves so the ATF went in and killed them.

I think it was more the government agents killed them all to keep them from contemplating mass suicide.

Wierd, b3cause Supposedly there are numerous Muslim training compounds throughout the US, all known to the govenrment evidently, and there are likely way more guns in those compounds than the branch dividians had, yet the gov doesn’t seem too worried about them.
“Law” enforcement is on the side of the people, right? Right?
Reviewing the autopsies paints a very different picture than what we've been led to believe.
This event has all the hallmarks of a false flag operation.
Just as importanty, that line demonstrates that they believed the absence of evidence was evidence of a crime.
Even wierder would be that, as far as I know, guns aren’t mailed to indviduals that are not licensed dealers.
So, if not, no guns going there. If guns going there, someone was licensed and therefore should have been no surprise to see guns being delivered there.

So the real reason comes out. They weren’t paying the required taxes to have full auto weapons. That can never be tolerated.
This and the Randy Weaver incident was when MOST of us realized our FBI was corrupt as hell that we had a TRUE DEEP STATE in our government!! Since this time these bastards are just out in the open in your face collecting political prisoners the FBI needs to be completely abolished in DC and just a FEW field offices in states!!

First they said it was about the weapons and went in, then the narrative changed to abusing children, then they said they were manufacturing drugs, and then just before the ATF killed them all, they claimed they were stopping a mass suicide. This was the biggest blunder of the feds ever. they lied and killed all the witnesses
How many if those rumors were generated by the government itself, leaked to compliant members of the press and then those same news reports were used to justify the initial raid and final FBI assault by the Hostage Roasting Team.
They could have arrested Koresh anytime when he went into to town.

Yeah I’m not sure what the situation was there. It used to be folks could order guns through the mail but those days are long gone.
