Led by grifters in both political parties, yes mainly D’s. THESE are the bedrock of socialism. In my generation, I hardly knew anyone on welfare, or getting food stamps. ALL were working, even unemployment was a nothing to get excited about a check. I made about $250 a week, when laid off UE paid about $80 a week. I don’t know how many times I applied for it, but took a job before getting any benefits. If you could get up in the AM, show up and put in a solid days work, you had a decent paycheck.

These three programs are called pyramid schemes. All the money you gave them was used for something else long ago and all three are now paid by either current workers through payroll taxes or through the government purchasing debt. In short, all three are welfare which means every retired boomer getting any of these is on welfare.
Go ahead get angry and tell me it is not welfare and that boomers are not grifters. The boomer generation was scammed by democrat party government as it continued the lie started by Roosevelt with the New Deal. Maybe boomers did build wealth but now boomers are also taking wealth from current and future generations. The national debt is over $31 trillon and all boomers will be dead by the time that bill needs to be paid.

The 1950s and 1960s had HUGE Democratic majorities in Congress. And, Republicans for the most part voted for Medicare, which has taken 60 years to destroy our system - but the work of destruction is almost finished.
And who STILL at this very late hour will not say what a grave mistake it was and what needs to be done to fix it?
It's a debate whether or not boomers built it but it's not up for debate who allowed the destruction.
