The Boomers built the wealth of this country, with us retiring those behind us are the consistent Dim voters. The illegals, the minorities and women who refuse to get and stay married. Led by grifters in both political parties, yes mainly D’s. THESE are the bedrock of socialism. In my generation, I hardly knew anyone on welfare, or getting food stamps. ALL were working, even unemployment was a nothing to get excited about a check. I made about $250 a week, when laid off UE paid about $80 a week. I don’t know how many times I applied for it, but took a job before getting any benefits. If you could get up in the AM, show up and put in a solid days work, you had a decent paycheck.

These three programs are called pyramid schemes. All the money you gave them was used for something else long ago and all three are now paid by either current workers through payroll taxes or through the government purchasing debt. In short, all three are welfare which means every retired boomer getting any of these is on welfare.

It is not welfare. If I had privately invested all the money the government confiscated from my paychecks I would be set for life. The little the will pay me back in social security does not come close to what they owe me. Like it or it social security is a contract with seniors that the government needs to fulfill. it’s not my fault they mismanaged the funds. Just like my mortgage company demands I fulfill my contract with them even if I blew my mortgage mo eye on frivolous stuff

SS is TAKEN, as are taxes to support food stamps. TAKEN, and given back partially. Government is the one who spent the money, they could have easily built up a fund that increased in value for all. They should have switched to the Chile system, of you own your SS monies, and that is what you got back, what you put in. Blame the boomers, because we are old and getting older? I didn’t devalue the dollar to the point where $12K a year went from good pay, to half of welfare eligibility. I was a union carpenters apprentice in 1974 making $12K a year, it was great money. Money enough to have kids and mom can stay home. Inflation is not things going up, it is money value falling. The government did that to me, and will do that to you too. Your grandkids can despise you too.

Yes, I absolutely blame a “majority” of boomers since during the 70s, 80s,90s and 2000s, the majority of boomers believed lying government and so many kept voting for more government laws implemented by democrats and not stopped by the stupid party republicans. Many boomers still believe lying government and they still vote for democrats. That is why biden is president and the Senate is majority dem (helped by election fraud of course).
Even you seem demand your money back and do not acknowledge the money was stolen and not there. Your social security taxes are gone. Social security, medicare and medicaid is now 100% paid for by current workers and government borrowing. This makes it 100% welfare.
Also, government devalued the dollar and caused inflation by massive “quantitative easing” and massive borrowing yet so many of the boomer generation, which is still huge in numbers, continue to vote for democrats and thus continue to ask for those policies which amount to generational theft.

To me Reagan seemed nice enough, but he seemed unaware of the debt crisis and the fiat system of money. I voted for GW Bush in 2000, but by 04 I could see he was a pile of bunkum. Algore? John Kerry? Clinton? Obama? Dole? GHW Bush? what choices were WE GIVEN? I did vote for Nixon, and he was not bad, but he was the warmup for how to attack DJT.
