The letter goes on to make it clear that the admonition not to call the police is based on concern for the well-being of the perpetrator. OK. Let's play this game. Let this guy rape the university president or his wife and daughter. Let him rape the female professors. Let him rape the female security staff. Then they can talk about concern for his wellbeing.

Several years ago a female aid worker was raped in Haiti. But she didn’t blame the rapist. She then wrote an article blaming white oppression.
