Good point. The truth matters much less than the spin and narrative and our media is expert at both.
It is highly effective too.
A big number of Americans still believe that Trump colluded with Russia, celebrated racism at Charlottesville, cheated on his taxes, acted improperly in the Ukraine, and that he called for an armed insurrection on Jan 6th.
My best guess is that “big number” is between 33-49% of the nation. It is really hard to win an “election” when the ill-informed and unmotivated vote in bigger numbers than ever before. Not much margin for victory and that is before you factor in that 5-10% of “Republicans” will never vote for Trump because of the narrative (mostly media but he plays into it too).
Harry Reid said it best when confronted about his lies - “well it worked didn’t it?”
