Just a little humor. I see who these Desantis threads can get.
The drive to cut state taxes has accelerated during the pandemic. During the past two years, dozens of states reduced their income tax rates or created new tax credits and rebates, partly as their coffers overflowed due to strong economic growth and billions in federal pandemic aid. Yet the latest round of tax cuts comes as the economy is showing signs of stress, raising questions about timing.
there goes that evil deep state globalist desantis doing evil things to florida again...
The fluffers will come out!
I really want DeSantis to stay on the sidelines for this one for Trump’s sake. But DeSantis needs to be preserved for the future, Trump can’t be allowed to destroy him for his own ego.
The Miami Independent is on it!:
On Tuesday morning, DeSantis convened a roundtable in Miami focusing on what his office called âthe damaging impacts of defamation from the legacy media.â Seated among the conservative panelists was Elizabeth âLibbyâ Locke, an attorney who has taken up litigation on behalf of clients like Sarah Palin and the James OâKeefe group Project Veritas against The New York Times, wrote The Daily Beast.
DeSantis said Locke was âan extraordinaire when it comes to First Amendment defamation.â What he didnât say is that Locke is now representing Dominion Voting Systems, which is currently suing key Trumpworld figuresâlike Rudy Giuliani and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindellâfor pushing bogus claims that the companyâs technology somehow stole the 2020 election from Trump.
MAGA commentators also chimed in.
âDeSantis being in cahoots with a Dominion lawyer has outraged the people of the United States,â he continued. âDeSantis lost any chance of running,â Lindell added before calling the Florida governor to âendorse Donald Trump right now,” added The Daily Beast.
Others, such as ardently pro-Trump lawyer Joseph D. McBrideâwho represents Jan. 6 riot defendantsâtold The Daily Beast in a phone interview that DeSantis âdestroyedâ himself by welcoming a Dominion lawyer.
No matter who you are or who you favor, ya gotta like this from a proactive governor!!
Florida has been growing its population size, meaning that, they have been taking in more in sales taxes and property taxes, thereby growing the amount of taxes collected.
Which means that they can give back some of that tax money.
Other states, like NY anc California, have been losing population, thereby decresasing their tax base. They can’t afford to give back any taxes, and in fact, will have to increase the tax rates or come up with new taxes, or become more dependent on the federal government to return some of the federal taxes collected.
All good ideas, but targeted, which, as always, technically picks winners and losers. How about just knocking a point off the general sales tax instead?
Florida at 5 percent. Wooooo-hooooo!
