A short time later, the City of Billings said on Twitter that there had been no "massive explosion" in the area....
Twitter user @Chase7601 seemingly attempted to stoke the flames of conspiracy by sharing an old photo that was claimed to be of "what fell out of the sky in Billings."...."Tried to go find it in my truck but was told to turn around by the National Guard blocking the road in a humvee."
User @Lhayes67 quickly pointed out that the photo was from a "weird news" article about UFOs that had been published by British tabloid Daily Star in 2020....

I’m not at all sure what it was, but it’s no contrail.
It looks more like a rocket contrail. A jet contrail isn’t as large and doesn’t enlarge and breakup that quick.
Wild conspiracy theories? The public is justified in being concerned about these balloons flying over. Speculation on their purpose is understandable considering the government’s lack of communication or action.
The ‘briefing’ from the Air Force general....I thought...was lacking. It appears that everyone just wanted to get into their cars there by noon, and drive off on some weekend trip. They didn’t want any decisions to be made.
Trump would have asked where it was currently and ordered it shoot-down without much discussion. Biden, I think by 11 AM...was walking out to the chopper for another long-weekend.
"Reporters" shouldn't speculate on things way out of their field of expertise.
I saw multiple videos from different perspectives. It looked like something on fire burning as it was descending. But, you really can’t trust anything you see unless it’s in person, even then keep your guard up.

The video clearly shows that this is government swamp gas or the planet Venus dancing in the sky.

I lived in Great Falls for 4 years while in the USAF. I have seen contrails form on the runway as our planes took off. It happens when it is very cold and Montana can get VERY cold.
