I deal with truck drivers at my job every day.
The quality of driver was in decline prior to 2008, fell off a cliff in 08, entered freefall and hasn’t stopped yet.
I’ve seen drivers that were stoned, seen severe mental issues, comprehension issues, language issues despite understanding and speaking English being a CDL requirement, saw one driver who appeared to be dead and zombified so I jokingly said that even death itself can’t stop the stupid I get to see.
Hopefully my son makes a delivery to you. He’s exactly the opposite of all of that.
He works for a large OTR company. He was at their yard the other day for some repairs and someone found an empty liquor bottle in a trash can.
Needless to say, management went ballistic. Zero tolerance is taken seriously there.
