In simple terms....the folks who fronted Crowder (for several years) had a contract which said if you lose content or numbers via YouTube or Twitter....you lose pay from us. So you need to cooperate with them or lose cash-flow.
It’s best not to mention their name because this is going to get pretty nasty as things go.

I am only vaguely aware of these people but it sounds like Chowder would get sued (presumably by Ben Shapiro) if he lost viewers ? YouTube bans/ hides content creators all the time so he could get in trouble and lose money even if it’s not his fault .

Doesn't YouTube (and all social media platforms) have an absolute "private property right" to limit viewers, shadow ban, or outright deplatform anyone? That's been their rationale these past several years. So what basis is there for a lawsuit?

I'm not a big fan of the Daily Wire, but the "outrageous" terms described by Crowder himself seemed perfectly reasonable to me.
A media outlet pays its TV/internet personalities because the shows they produce generate viewers and advertising revenue. There's nothing wrong with a media outlet including a provision in a contract that protects THEM if they lose access to millions of prospective viewers over something the TV/internet personality does.

Honestly I didn’t listen to the entire thing (it’s a bit too “inside baseball” for me) but I think that’s why Crowder didn’t like the contract . It made it too easy for him to get sued for breaking the contract.

$50 MILLION DOLLAR
Why capitalize that like it’s scary or something? Go ahead and try to collect a fifty million dollar judgment, even if you get one. Go ahead, try.
To paraphrase Saul Goodman, “That double-wide is worth fifty million only if there is a $49,999,900.00 hooker sitting in it.”

Steven Crowder is a smart and witty voice, generally a happy warrior who has been in the battle against the cultural and political progressive movement for over a decade. He’s been in the fight for quite a while and deserves a great deal of praise for bringing a generation of younger people into the fold. I respect his long-established time in the trenches of the cultural war, and we are helping him deliver his message.
Crowder’s audience, the “Mug Club”, is likely a mix of Gen-Z and Gen-X rebels throwing sand into the machinery. He does a great job producing content that deconstructs the insanity of the political left in a way that works and expands his audience. Crowder has almost 6 million YouTube subscribers and while I don’t follow him closely, the message he delivered yesterday is very pertinent.
The problem he outlines is an inside baseball dynamic taking place in the background of the conservative media. It essentially boils down to a financial issue CTH raised a long time ago when the first signals of this troubling trend started. Most of the “well known” conservative media outlets have been purchased and co-opted by a financial system that ultimately controls their content.
If you have the time, WATCH: (27:59)
What Crowder is discussing is the reason why Michelle Malkin dropped out of the fight. The “BigCon” Crowder notes is essentially like the Fox News of alternative media. They offer incentives to monetize the content provider (broadcaster, website, pod caster etc.) then lock the content providers into extremely controlling contracts that control the outcomes.
Ultimately, what the audience ends up seeing is an approved finished product that is acceptable to BigCon and Big Tech. In essence they are in bed together to stop bold and alternative conversation and filtrate the message to shades of soft pastels.

CRTV (Glenn Beck, Blaze),
Mark Levin,
Dave Rubin,
Salem Media [Townhall, Hot Air, Twitchy, Red State, PJ Media],
The Daily Wire with Ben Shapiro,
Candace Owens,
...the list of names and outlets who participate in this overall system is very long. Upstream you will find the same financial underwriters, and all of them have a commonality.
Crowder is at an inflection point and obviously he is unwilling to capitulate to the guiding hands in control that no one is allowed to discuss.
Good for him. I hope he can leverage his influence to break the control mechanism, give startups an alternative, and continue the rebellion.

Basically this video criticizes Crowder who is angry at The Daily Wire because of some alleged contract dispute.
But the video is worth watching as it sheds light on the larger issue of the genuineness of Big Conservative Media.

The problem is these media companies think old school.
They do not intend, but these contracts basically uphold the YouTube, Facebook, etc social policy instead of standing up to it.
Crowder is an entrepreneur. He is the talent and content creator. He does not need Daily Wire, Fox or anyone because he has a loyal following.
What Crowder needs is someone who will give him the back end for a fee. The servers, accounting, HR, etc with no regard to whether Crowder is attacked by the leftist social media ompanies or not.
As long as Crowder pays the costs for the back end, they should not have contracts that penalize him if YouTube demonetizes his program.
These companies (Daily Wire, Fox, etc) all operate the same way the record companies operated. But things have changed and the way to do business has changed.
