As a general officer, Lieutenant General Bierman commanded the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego and Western Recruiting Region from 2013 to 2016. If China were ever to be invaded, it would be a joint operation by Russia and India. And that scenario is — at least now — very remote.

Is it? More than 40,000,000 died in Europe in WWII, and the vast majority of them AFTER Germany invaded the USSR in June, 1941. And most of those deaths (an estimated 65%) were incurred by the USSR. That’s why I don’t think Russia is going to go nuclear over Ukraine: It would basically cease to exist if it did so. Russia is a bully, but it is not suicidal.

You are naiive. Nations have interests, not friends. And interests can turn on a dime.
