California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) has asked the Biden administration to make federal aid available to California for flood relief, just months after billions of dollars in federal spending compounded the state’s budget surplus.
In a statement Sunday, Newsom said that he had requested a federal emergency declaration, which would make federal funds available, in the ongoing deluge that has dropped heavy rains across his drought-stricken state.
“I am requesting [Direct Federal Assistance] in order to meet critical emergency protection requirements in the form of personnel, mass care support, mass shelter support, mass evacuation support, equipment, and supplies,” Newsom wrote to the president.

Dams are being removed.
Dams perform many functions:
They keep hard rains from going downhill & causing flooding, as they do catch & retain water.
They provide electrical power-—at VERY cheap rates-—WITHOUT FOSSIL FUELS or pollution
They retain water for dispersal as needed for agricultural usage all spring/summer
They provide recreational usage
So now the US taxpayers are going to bail California out of self-inflicted debt to fund more insane liberal agendas, which keeps Newsom in office?
I thought the retarded one was claiming that Cauliphonya has a 58 Billion dollar surplus. They had so much extra money they didn’t know what to do with it. Why the hell is the idiot asking the taxpayers for more?

Do you remember the CA tax passed as earmarked for Dam maintenance, then spent elsewhere? I do.
The result was nearly the loss of a DAm, a good sized town, and likely deaths of hundreds, perhaps even thousands.
I lost my entire retirement due to a CA flood that would never have happened if the county commissioners had not stolen the maintenance funds for pet projects over several years.
ANY funds sent to CA must have Fed. oversight to slow the grift.
Newsom, like Zelensky, has one things on his evil mind....
