I suffer the same fate as many in life- skeletons in yee old closet. TY, however (doffs cap) for the kind words.
I suppose we should take into consideration how many of our elected officials have been scrutinized through the filters of our many alphabet-intelligent agencies, and appreciate those that continue to participate. Am I right?
I DID help get a person elected to the US Senate, Peter Fitzgerald, only to have him taken out by Ray LaHood and Dennis Hastert.
Dennis Hastert (Speaker of the House) went to prison for funneling money to a blackmailer and for failing to report the large money transfers... he was also accused of molesting high school wrestlers while a coach in Yorktown, IL.
Ray LaHood, 18th CD, and my Congress critter, at one time... when I resided in IL, was appointed by Barack Obama, to be his Secretary of Transportation. This equals another federal gravy train pension for good old boy Ray LaHood. Why? He took out a sitting US Senator, (Fitzgerald) which allowed for an upstart and unknown Barack Hussein Obama to win the senate nomination.
You make a great point about skeletons.(I have many myself)
Anybody that gets into politics better have thick skin. Political opponents and the media will lie and distort whatever information they can find. Your family and friends will hear these slanders as well.
Blood sport politics is why I rarely throw one of our politicians under a bus, just because I read or heard ‘something.’
Thanks for the friendly & interesting chat. Take care.
