“He is probably in favor of cutting government spending but knows that in same areas it is not possible, because voters don’t want to and a politician who cuts will be out of politics quickly. If it is impossible to cut some things, why try?”

The national debt increased by close to 8 trillion when Trump was in office. Trump favors spending.

Do better than Trump. Run for President with the promise to eliminate social security. Show Trump and us how it’s done. Idiot.

"Do better than Trump"

On this topic, that's easy - I've done nothing, which IS better.

Trump is still bragging about his horrendously bad SwampJab.

No president has provided more unearned profit and more undeserved legal protection for BigPharma - who owns the Uniparty. Growing the swamp by leaps and bounds.

So doing nothing is better than repealing Roe v Wade? The idiots Paul Ryan is paying to post on this website do a very poor job.

"So doing nothing is better than repealing Roe v Wade? "

You know I was talking about BigGovt/SS.

Regardless, Trump is no hero regarding the SC decision. He was blessed with an opportunity to nominate 3 justices. It will be years before we know how good the 3 picks Trump and Mitch got through the process are for a Free Republic in general. They voted the right way on Roe.

But it was actually a combination of the principled intellects of the Bush picks plus a stubborn/selfish RBG who made this happen.

Operation Warp Speed ring a bell for you Vaxxer? Make all the excuses you want, but the vast majority of the plandemic inflation arose during the Trump years.

The rise of Fauci/Birx, the jab, the stimulus payments, the lockdowns. Biteme just continued the Trump Covid BS.

The more “sudden death syndrome” cases you see from the vax are merely tripwires for Trump in the primaries. Whistle past the graveyard all you want.

Who actually opened their state, earning the name “DeathSantis” from the liberals? It wasn’t Trump.

Exactly. Puts a smile on my face every time someone points that out. Thank you for giving me my first smile of the day!

"Biteme just continued the Trump Covid BS."

Agreed.

Biden, of course, gets extra blame for many mandates and such.

Although, I also blame Trump indirectly for that too. He created the dang Anti-Freedom Tyranny Gun. It is ludicrous to think the evil monkeys would NOT use it against us.

“Trump always has been sort of centrist on the social issues ...”

The way I saw it, when he came in to office he leaned very left when it came to social issues. As he became exposed to constituents’ beliefs, and values of Christianity up close and personal (he never had been a religious person), he moved over to the center.

“He surrounded himself with prosperity preachers and false Prophets.”

That woman he refers to as his pastor (”Joyce” something?) — what a joke. He also was close to Franklin Graham who is pretty solid, although I did respect him less when he became pro clot shot.

“As for abortion, I’m ok with it if it is to save the life of the mother and no other reason.”

I believe most Christians feel the same.

I like Trump and will vote for him, but in reality, he is a Christian in name only.

So what? Name a real Christian who could win in today's environment and knows how to wage war against the Deep State and the Marxists taking over our country.

When I moved back down South toward the end of my career, I was given a piece of advice that served me well. When you're doing business with a guy who proclaims himself to be a "real" Christian, keep your hand over your wallet pocket.

I'm an evangelical and I don't trust "Christians" as far as I can spit. They may go to church on Sunday and pretend to be "upright," but they are just as crooked and tricky as everyone else. Maybe more so.

“The Catholic Church recognized the three exceptions “

Really? They’re OK with abortion for rape and incest? That surprises me. I guess they believe these babies aren’t people and don’t deserve to live due to a sin that is not their fault? Surprised. Disappointed.

Kristi Noem was better than DeSantis during the plandemic. RD did participate in the sham to some extent with lockdowns, etc. KN never did, AFAIK. Business as usual for her state.

He’s doing some very good things for his state, but I have a hinky feeling about him. That’s mostly due to those who are recruiting and supporting him.

I’d trust Noem more. She valued freedom above all else from Day One without having to see which way the wind was blowing. Freedom is freedom. She had a couple social hiccups along the way, but none threatened her citizens’ basic liberties.

"...he moved over to the center..."

Trump is not really a centrist. He is pure politician, a populist.

This is why it is important to criticize him when he strays Left. He needs to know when a position is unpopular within the party.

People here who excuse every wrong thing he does are somewhat analogous to his unhelpful SwampJabs. Additional boosting trains your immune to tolerate evil, not fight it.

“The Catholic Church believes in no exceptions for abortion.”

I guess that guy I replied to thinks there are exceptions.

Back in the late ‘60s, my ex’s cousin was pregnant and scheduled to deliver the baby at a Catholic hospital. A couple months before the due date they learned that if there were complications during delivery where only one could be saved, they saved the baby and not the mother. They scheduled for another hospital.

I guess it’s good to have all the info ahead of time.

“Thanks” to demographics changes that continue, no Republican can ever get elected again anyway so what difference does it make?
