My dad ran the snowmobile rescue for all of Erie County during the blizzard of’77. Lots of people rescued from cars. All you could see was the antenna. Took one pregnant lady on our snowmobile to the hospital to have her baby.

The warnings from authorities should be that if one ventures out in such weather, have your own agreed upon back up person for rescue. Otherwise, one should be on their own.
