Used to bet people in Wisconsin bars that anti freeze would freeze. Straight anti freeze freezes very well in ice cube rays.

50/50 antifreeze mix is the optimum mixture. Pure antifreeze will freeze.

Around there we used engine block tank heaters. No problem except you had to watch out for all of the extension cords.
