Roger that. However, I do remember a TDY to Northern Germany, near Kiel. Sunrise to sunset was around 4 AM to 10:30 PM. Winters there were dark and bitterly cold.
Guess the blowing up the pipeline wasn’t a good idea.
I have one of those, too :)
It works with twigs so tiny, no one even notices they’ve been picked up. That’s especially handy in areas with lots of scrub brush, but not a lot of trees.
The ones I have run on batteries. They’ve lasted us through several years of occasional blackouts without even changing them.
I like the ambience of candles, but I’ve never found a burning candle to give off much heat unless you build one of those clay pot ‘ovens’.

Ok, so that post sent me on a trip through youtube watching how to build a rocket stove, and then 20 survival tips in the woods, etc. Interesting and useful stuff to know.
It’s not mentioned in this article, but Germany has been shutting down its nuclear power plants.
Get a small candle lantern, go into a small closet and wrap your blankets around you (except for your head) while sitting against a wall, with the candle lantern between your legs.
The tent-like effect will warm you up and recharge your internal thermostat.
You can also put the candle lantern into a heavy can or pot, set it underneath a chair or stool, and cover everything but your head with your blankets for the tent-like effect, while you use your led headlamp to read a book, or play cards.
Yes, and now they are reconsidering......................
