I dug in. Mark Bryant has
his own proprietary, COMPETING dataset of firearms incidents.
Thus, I don't doubt the politicization and anti-civil rights element of the CDC's actions. But I think this is more about crony capitalism, and the govt effectively driving researchers to use (and pay for use of...) Bryant's potentially-biased database.
