This author has a pretty simplistic view. Hezbollah does not have “absolute control in Lebanon.”

They are the most powerful player, but that is only because of a close alliance with the Christian factions. As in Syria the two groups have a common interest in keeping ISIS aligned Sunnis under control.

Very good. Aoun represents the armed Christian faction. His father, I think, was killed at the end of the last Lebanese Civil War around what, 1990?
