POLITICS House Financial Services Chair Waters doesn’t plan to subpoena Sam Bankman-Fried to testify at hearing on FTX collapse

House Financial Services Committee Chair Maxine Waters told the panel’s Democrats she doesn’t plan to subpoena former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried to testify at a Dec. 13 hearing about the crypto exchange’s rapid demise, according to people with direct knowledge of the conversation.

Waters informed committee members of her decision at a private meeting Tuesday with Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler on Capitol Hill, these people said, declining to be named in order to speak freely about the private discussion.

Waters said she wants committee staff to try to persuade Bankman-Fried to voluntarily testify, those with knowledge of the meeting said. As of late Wednesday, Bankman-Fried has yet to agree to testify before the House committee, two of the people said.

Waters, who will lose the chairmanship when Republicans take control of the House on Jan. 3, could end up deferring to Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., the panel’s top Republican and likely next chair, to decide whether to subpoena Bankman-Fried in the next congressional session if the FTX founder declines to voluntarily testify under oath.

Waters invited Bankman-Fried to voluntarily testify before the panel, but she could change her mind and subpoena him. John Jay Ray III, the new FTX CEO, is scheduled to testify at the House hearing.

After CNBC published this article Wednesday night, Waters took issue with the story and said a “subpoena is definitely on the table.”

Well, when you’re knee deep in the scam why would you ever want to out yourself?

On a side note, the Republican’s aren’t going to subpoena him either. They appear to be knee deep in it, as well. Didn’t Candidate DJT state that he supported people from both parties because at some point, he was going to need something from them and it would be easier to deal with them?

Make of it, what you will....

FTX Gave Cash To McConnell & McCarthy And It Looks As Bad As It Sounds

https://ussanews.com/2022/11/30/ftx-gave-cash-to-mcconnell-mccarthy-and-it-looks-as-bad-as-it-sounds/

Bankman-Fried gave $1 million to Mitch McConnell’s Senate Leadership Fund super PAC during the primaries. He gave about $900,000 to the Congressional Leadership Fund and the American Patriots PAC, both of which are affiliated with Kevin McCarthy.

Both McCarthy and McConnell used funds from those PACs to donate to milquetoast RINO primary candidates who were opposed to Donald Trump and the MAGA movement.

I’d be willing to bet that many on this site will look at where this article came from and snub as not being from a credible news source. While at the same time say that WaPo, NYT, Newsweek, Time, CNN, MSNBC, the MSM, etc etc etc are all rags and fake news. But, obviously still hold them in some regard as they can be credible sometimes, but something like the, ussanews.com site, can never be trusted.

Perhaps the new congress could subpoena Waters for testimony during the next session. No cajones though.

“Mad” Maxine Waters has been very quiet in the last few months. Quiet for her.
She’s hiding something. It may have to do with this. Maxine is known to have purchased several pieces of real estate and put them under her daughter’s name as owner.

That itself is not a crime but with whose money does she make these purchases? A real opposition party would be digging into that.
Project Veritas can’t do it all.

FTX bankruptcy judge heard that the company was being
“run as a personal fiefdom of Sam Bankman-Fried.”

<><>a “substantial amount” of FTX Group’s assets “have either been stolen or are missing.”
<><>unclear whether the “substantial amounts” were stolen or mishandled
<><>includes several billion in combined loans that GF-run Alameda Research reportedly made to SBF, two of his deputies, and a company majority-owned by him; or are separate from them.
<><>SBF also raised $420 million from investors on behalf of FTX —
<><>only he paid himself $300 million of that amount, claiming it as a personal reimbursement for re-purchasing the 15% stake in the exchange held by rival company Binance.

The court has been told FTX has 36 banks and more than 200 bank accounts.....
....all that laundry........hmmmmmmm.

She does not want to talk to the man who stole billions?
Yet she denounces Donald Trump who has been slandered for years and announces he is guilty... of something.

She must be involved in the theft.
