Biden Admin Will Ban Fossil Fuel Use In New Federal Buildings By 2030

The Biden administration on Wednesday announced a new proposed rule that will prevent new or newly renovated federal buildings from being powered by fossil fuels by 2030.

The new standards will force the government to use green energy technologies to power its buildings in hopes of cutting carbon emissions and meeting international climate goals, according to an Energy Department (DOE) memo. Starting in 2025, government buildings, which are responsible for roughly 25% of all federal carbon emissions, must also reduce their on-site emissions relating to energy use by 90% compared to 2003 levels.

“Ridding pollution from our buildings and adopting clean electricity are some of the most cost-effective and future-oriented solutions we have to combat climate change,” said Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm in a statement.

President Joe Biden is promoting green energy and phasing out fossil fuels throughout the entire federal government, setting a “net-zero” goal for government carbon emissions by 2050, according to a White House fact sheet. The DOE stated that the new regulation could reduce federal buildings’ methane emissions by 22.8 thousand tons and those buildings’ carbon emissions by 1.86 million metric tons over the next 30 years, which is roughly equivalent to the emissions produced by nearly 300,000 homes annually.

Okay assclowns. We double dog dare you to TOTALLY eliminate any and all products that are in any way associated with "fossil fuels" in any way with your new buildings or any thing you use in them. Do it. Enjoy your wooden buildings put together with pegs and mallets. And your reports will be on parchment using charcoal to write them. Strong dislike for these assclowns. Could they be any more stoopid? But, they have lots of company.

Well, on the positive side, as these offices freeze, people won’t want to work for the government, will quit. Less government workers, which will also mean less pollution from these air breathers.

Almost looks like working for the Federal gov is really going to suck in 2030 when they no longer have the energy to heat or cool their buildings.

Hahahahaha couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of people.

Hopefully he’ll be dead by 2030 and so will his destructive “policies”.

Bureaucrats freezing or getting heat stroke in their buildings will be like the train in the tunnel scene in Atlas Shrugged.

Well, they had best make sure that each of those buildings is disconnected from their local municipal electrical supply because I can guarantee that all those sources of electricity will be produced at least in part by use of “fossil fuel”.

OK, then, if we may not use hydrocarbon fuels (”fossil fuels” are anything but, this is a serious misnomer), then get started building all those nuclear power plants that will be the bridge to the future, like, YESTERDAY. We need a couple of hundred up and running as of January 1, 2030, if there is going to be a serious move away from hydrocarbon fuels. The unicorn farts and rainbows that provide the wind and solar power on a reliable basis are just not available, nor shall they ever be.

Democrat socialists, great on devising new problems, but a little short on providing viable solutions to the situations they create.

Why wait until 2030, start now.

Start using renewables in all those federal buildings in upstate NY, all over New England, all through the midwest, and all across the northern tier of the US. Lets see how that all works out.

They aren’t his policies, his name just happens to be on the paperwork.

The folks pulling those puppet strings are anonymous and not going anywhere. They’ve been busy cultivating replacements and those replacements get crazier and crazier.

And to think, the only way they can even make a feeble attempt at powering these buildings is with solar panels.

Who makes all the solar panels? the Chinese if I’m not mistaken. Cheap ones at that.
