She was fired as a rookie cop for beating up on a cop for pulling her soon-to-be husband for DUI.
Maybe she was trying to avoid being shot.

The woman was a controversial hire into the Police Chief position earlier this year. She had previously been suspended then fired from Tampa PD, charged with battery on a police officer, obstruction, and disorderly intoxication. She was given a "second chance" and reinstated to the Tampa PD.
O'Connor didn't last a year in her new position. In other words, she was a bad hire as Police Chief.

Not to nitpick but this is a bit of a pet peeve of mine: cops are civilians. There’s the military and then there is everyone else, who are known as civilians. Too many police departments these days appear to have forgotten this. Policemen calling the public “civilians” is to me a telltale sign of the wrong attitude.
Then therew was the judge here locally who was pulled over. Except the woman with him wasn’t his wife. All nicely recorded.
